Brett Phelps
Visual Journalist & Content Creator
Brett Phelps is a visual journalist based in Bardstown, Kentucky. In his junior year, Brett is studying photojournalism, marketing, data analytics, and computer information systems at Western Kentucky University. He is also a member of the Mahurin Honors College. Brett plans to graduate in May 2025.

Brett currently serves as the Web-Visuals editor of Western Kentucky University's Talisman, a student life and culture website and print magazine and a Gear Specialist in the Photojournalism department. He recently served as a Production Assistant with WKU's Public Broadcasting Station (PBS).

In the summer of 2023, Brett completed an internship with The Chautauquan Daily as a visual journalist. He served as the Creative Media Specialist for the Nelson County Schools in the summers of 2022 and 2023. Brett has also recently completed a Civic Leaders Fellowship, traveling between our nation's capital and California.


In his downtime, Brett enjoys taking long drives through the country backroads with the windows down, going on hikes, traveling to new destinations, attending concerts, and playing the piano.
